French prosecutors Tuesday have charged Marine Le Pen’s far-right party of providing suspected fake jobs to EU parliamentary assistants, according to local media.

According to Le Monde, the National Front Party was charged with allegedly misusing European Parliament funds to pay parliamentary aides who did political work for the National Front.

In June, the European Parliament lifted immunity of far-right National Front leader Marine Le Pen at the request of French prosecutors as part of the investigation.
