Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Tuesday met Jordanian King Abdullah II in the capital Riyadh.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the leaders discussed the U.S. President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, and its influence on the peace process in the region.

Last week, Trump, despite widespread international opposition, recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

They also emphasized the historical rights of Palestinian people on Jerusalem and other occupied areas, the agency said.

They stressed the need for a permanent and fair solution to the Palestine issue.

The Jordanian king is expected to attend an extraordinary summit of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Wednesday in Istanbul.
