PRISTINA, Kosovo

Macedonia Prime Minister Zoran Zaev paid an official visit to Kosovo on Tuesday to meet his counterpart Ramush Haradinaj in Pristina.

Speaking to reporters following the meeting, Zoran Zaev, the first Macedonian prime minister to visit Kosovo, said Macedonia supported Kosovo’s membership to UNESCO and in its dialogue with Serbia.

Zaev and Haradinaj agreed to launch an investigation into a 2015 shoot-out in which eight police officers were killed in Macedonia’s northern town of Kumanova, which borders Kosovo.

He pointed to19 agreements signed by Kosovo and Macedonia and added that 20 more agreements could be expected.

Zaev also emphasized that the current trade volume between two countries was €160 million ($187.8 million) and was expected to reach €200 million ($234.7 million).

Ramush Haradinaj expressed his appreciation for Zaev's visit.
